Our client was founded in 1982. They are a leading specialty grocery retail organization. The company is publicly held and has approximately 134 stores located in 25 states throughout the country. They have engaged our services to search for an Engineering and Energy Manager. The opportunity will be located in the North Carolina area.
 
Description:
The Engineering and Energy Manager will be responsible for:

• Energy services providers, procurement of deregulated energy contracts and analyzing consumption.
• Setting up new service utility contracts, maintaining the correct rate structures.
• Manage their outside consultants for the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and refrigeration design for all new stores and remodels.  Maintain the standards for corporate/brand design.
• Maintain the design schedule for all projects, owner purchased equipment submittal and shop drawing review.
• Work closely with the Real Estate, Development, Construction, Procurement and Facilities departments, providing engineering direction as needed.
• The Engineering and Energy Manager will be expected to demonstrate a high level of integrity with our employees and vendors. Excellent multi-tasking, communication and organizational skills and a sense of urgency are required in the management engineering designs.  This person will lead by example and work to produce high quality finished products.

Desired Skills and Experience

Requirements:

• 5 years of experience in engineering design and energy management from the retail industries that deal with refrigerated and frozen food
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• Certified Energy Manager certificate is preferred
• Understanding of refrigeration and HVAC control systems is preferred
