Quesnel River Pulp currently has an opening for an INDUSTRIAL ENERGY MANAGER
The Energy Manager will develop and oversee a long term energy management plan working within BC Hydro’s Industrial Energy Manager Program.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Energy Manager will develop and oversee a long term energy management plan working within BC Hydro’s Industrial Energy Manager Program.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify energy savings opportunities and develop a long term strategy;
- Maintain a prioritized spreadsheet of energy-saving projects;
- Assist in the preparation of energy budgets;
- Complete cost / benefit analysis for energy projects;
- Benchmark and track energy usage;
- Conduct or arrange energy audits, surveys and measurement / verification;
- Manage the collection of in-house and utility meter readings;
- Implement capital programs focused on energy reduction;
- Evaluate alternative energy scenarios based on sustainable sources such as biomass;
- Monitor and advise on changing legislation, and regulations;
- Keep current on new technologies with respect to energy efficiency;
- Complete quarterly energy management reports;
- Other duties as assigned.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Preference will be given to candidates with an Engineering Degree and specific designations such as Certified Energy Manager, or Master’s of Engineering in Clean Energy.
- Strong interpersonal and self-management skills are required, plus the ability to work either independently or as a team member.
