Energy Consultant


Title: Business Analyst/Energy Consultant

Location: New York w/heavy travel to Europe

Overview: Seeking former natural gas, crude or electricity traders or schedulers, in energy trading companies or banks. This is a direct client-facing role. The Business Analyst will: work w/customers, consultants, and software engineers to conceptualize, analyze, and design enhancements to an ETRM software system. Primary focus will be: meeting needs of the North American and European natural gas markets, assessment of natural gas trading marketplace to identify functional gaps, perform cost/benefit analysis to identify enhancements for consideration for existing and potential clients, assist in coordination and prioritization of development requests concerning natural gas markets, demonstration of system functionality in relation to customer business requirements. The Energy Consultant will also help create test plans for major enhancements to software, to be used by the QA team for future regression testing.

Requirements: Knowledge of one or more of the following areas: Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM), power settlements, ERCOT, NERC, ISO integration, business intelligence, Commodities, Equity, Stocks, natural gas. Experience in designing a trading/risk management software package, consulting experience is a plus, but not required, strong client interfacing skills & great communication abilities, ability to travel to Europe 50%.
