Job description

Position Title:  Commercial/Industrial Energy Efficiency Engineer
 
Position Description: Triple Point Energy is seeking a full-time Energy Engineer based in Salt Lake City, UT. This position is responsible for delivering commercial and industrial energy efficiency program services through identifying, scoping, and analyzing energy efficiency opportunities in commercial and industrial facilities.  Key duties and skills required for this position include:
 
The candidate should have experience identifying, scoping, documenting, communicating, and inspecting energy efficiency opportunities in commercial and industrial facilities. More specifically, the candidate should have experience with some or all of the following systems: Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), lighting, chillers and refrigeration, variable frequency drives, compressed air, and process equipment.  

Desired Skills and Experience

Energy Engineering: The candidate should be able to:
  • Communicate with clients in a professional manner
  • Conduct energy audits on-site
  • Review building and system plans and drawings
  • Monitor and analyze energy consumption
  • Use temporary metering equipment to collect relevant data
  • Perform energy savings calculations and modeling
  • Write concise reports documenting the audit findings and opportunities
  • Manage projects to completion while exceeding client expectations
 
Project and Client Management: The candidate will be responsible for the delivery of energy efficiency services to multiple facilities concurrently, while meeting the schedule and budget associated with those projects. This will require strong organizational and communication (oral, written, and e-mail) skills.
 
Statistical Analysis: Our services also include quantifying energy savings through statistical analysis.  The candidate should have experience gathering, manipulating, and analyzing data (using statistical techniques such as regression analysis) with tools such as Excel, JMP, Minitab, etc.
 
Education, Experience, and Requirements: The position requires a Bachelor’s degree, and a minimum of three years of experience delivering energy efficiency services in the commercial and/or industrial setting. Professional Engineer license and/or Certified Energy Manager certification are desired. This position includes safely traveling to and working in large industrial facilities and around industrial equipment.  A valid driver’s license and background check will be required.
