New Delkanda Sathi Pola, Nugegoda is the first pola premises which going to be lit by solar power. The Delkanda weekly fair has been established on a private land and a
tense situation arose after the land owner of the market pad locked the
market’s entrance. The government considering the grievances of the
Delkanda Sathi Pola venders identified an alternate venue for
construction of a new Sathi Pola.
New Pola premises has state of art facilities with new energy and cost effective features. The project was launched on a concept by UDA. EnerFab Pvt Ltd, a local company for energy efficient and renewable energy solutions, has designed, installed and commissioned the solar power street light system at Delkanda Pola Premises.
Managing Director of EnerFab Pvt Ltd., Mr. Chinthaka Aripriya said that their company had implemented the current system with the
support given by UDA and this Solar system will save 17.5MWh per anum to the national grid.

The reason is most of the vegetable, fruits offered for sale are
homegrown and brought to the pola by the villagers. More than 500

"The system is fully designed by the company. The wiring system,
functioning method, even the lamp posts are manufactured by the company
under the brand name EnerFab," Aripriya said.
The company has developed number of energy saving effective methods since 2005 . EnerFab Pvt Ltd is now having solar based net metering systems for reasonable price and outdoor solar sysetms, he said. "We are in a position to provide all kind of solar systems, biomass energy systems and more energy consultancy services " said
Aripriya.
UDA is promoting solar power street lighting as an energy saving cost effective methods for Sri Lankan Roads and outdoor premises.
